Wedding Gift Basket
My voice teacher is getting married mid-August, and I put together this kitchen-themed Gift basket for her:

I got the stuff from Jo-Ann's $1 section. There are towels, scrub brushes, a meal planner, a potholder, measuring cups and a heart-shaped tea-strainer and heart-shaped measuring spoons.

I got the basket on sale from Jo-Anne's. I wove the ribbon around it to pick up on the gingham-ribbon theme. (All the items came with gingham ribbon wrapped around them).

My Life Most Recently
An update on my rather dull life:
July 19th-21st we went to Wisconsin/Chicago to the MCM sale (MCM stands for Madison Childrens Museum. American Girl holds a annual benefit sale for MCM) and American Girl Place Chicago.
Last week I finished Year 7 of homeschool. I get a break till Labor day. We are still doing Science and Math though.
We are harvesting a lot of squash from our garden. When we came back from our trip, there were zuchinnis the size of watermelons. And we got a lot of cucumbers and yellow squash as well. We have been dispersing them among our neighbors. :-) We also get a mealful of green beans every time we pick as well. We have a couple small cantaloups in the process of growing. Our corn is also developing also.
My latest 'obsession' has been making movies on the computer. Mainly making a picture slideshow and then adding music and text. I'll post a couple that I've made later.

Video of my Bodhran
It's a bit tinny, but you can sort of hear how it sounds. I can't play it really well yet, but you can the general idea.

The Bodhran
I have always loved the bodhran ever since my favorite band became Maidens IV. Well, I finally decided to buy one. I looked at online stores that sold them but I found my favorite one for a pretty good price on eBay. It arrived a while ago, but I kept forgetting to take pictures. Heather (who is a member of Maidens IV and my good friend) played it for me one Sunday after church and said it was a pretty good one. She is going to give me lessons in August I think, and we also have a CD-Rom coming which should teach me how to play it as well.
So without further ado, here is my new drum!

Clothes for Mini-Addy
We are now hosting another traveling American Girl doll, this time a Mini-Addy doll.
She doesn't have many clothes (and one must have clothes when traveling), so I made her this outfit out of Simplicity 3574, View A.
The dress, pinafore and bonnet:

Here's a picture of it without the pinafore:
