Merry Christmas!!!

Well, it's 10:09, and Christmas is almost over. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

It's been a nice Christmas though. I recieved the Nicki doll from American Girl. She is the Girl of the Year 2007.

Mother was quite sneaky and labeled Nicki as Dad's present. I 'recieved' Mom's binoculars and Mom opened Dad's gift. We all switched and here's me with my beautiful Nicki!

I made an apron for Mom. I was quite worried since I wouldn't be able to ask for her help, but I think it turned out alright, besides it being too big. I can add another buttonhole (it's adjustable) so that's fine. I'll post a better picture later. ;-)

Mom outdid herself again and made me a beautiful Jelly Bag from fabrics that I admired and loved from Fabric Obsession...AND if that wasn't enough, she made 9 mini bags for my dolls, a blanket for Bitty Baby and a smaller one for Bitty Bear.

And so a Merry Christmas to all...and to all, a good night.

Slideshow!

I added a slideshow of various pictures of myself to the sidebar. (Since Dad showed me how to use the Self Timer, I've had quite a few photoshoots of myself. =D)

New Look

I finally figured out how to change the URL to my blog so I decided to change the name and look of Vintage Roses Home. It's now Rose of Sharon.

Old Jeans Purse and Bitty Baby Outfit

These jeans started out as an attempt to make a skirt out of old jeans. Well, it didn't work so good. So I cut the top off and made this adorable purse. I got the idea to put the tulle through the belt loops like a sash from a purse like this that was on display at Jo-Anne's (they had a class going to teach you how to make these).

It's kind of hard to see in the pictures, but the purse is lined with the same fabric as the strap.
AND this picture is mostly for the benefit of Aunt Polly so she can see my ADORABLE Bitty Baby outfit I'm made for Hannah...that ended up with a 2" gap in the back. :( Bitty Baby is a bit plumper than normal Baby dolls. I'm still trying to see if I can fix it, but hopefully it will fit Hannah's another baby doll if I can't repair it.

I'm just showing you the front of it and not the big gap.

Adria Joy

My newest American Girl doll, Adria Joy, a American Girl of Today/Just Like You doll arrived last week.

She's got the prettiest dark brown curls and medium-toned skin.

The story of her name:

Mom asked a checker at Wal*mart how you pronounce her name. She replied, "Adria." (It's like Adrienne, with the A instead of the Enne) I was at the time trying to figure out what to name this lovely morsel. Mom and I both agreed that Adria befit her personality perfectly. :-D

Hawai'i

Ok, I'm so sorry that I haven't posted about Hawai'i yet...I'm being lazy. :-[ Anyway, here are some pictures.
