My Birthday - Part 2

My birth-family arrived late Friday night (well, actually, Saturday morning, around 12:30am). They couldn't stay that long, (they left Sunday afternoon) but we did have fun while they were here!

Ruby:

Louis:

Frankie:

They had fun with my bodhran (it made noise = they loved it)

Louis caught a bass

Frankie caught a bluegill

Ruby had fun playing on the computer...she thought the mouse was a phone.

The cake!

It's funny how as you get older, it gets easier to blow out the candles.

You are taking my picture. Do not take my picture. (He took my picture)

A Tribute Video to my Friend

I was in the video making mood, so I made a tribute video to my best friend of 8 years, Charity.
Let me know if the video is not showing up...sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't for me.

A Lovely Quote

Found this quote in "Raising Maidens of Virtue" and I fell in love with it.

These are not books, lumps of lifeless paper, but minds alive on the shelves. From each of them goes out its own voice and just as the touch on our set will fill the room with music, so by taking down one of these volumes and opening it, one can call into range the voice of a man far distant in time and space, and hear him speaking to us, mind to mind, heart to heart.

My first full-sized quilt

I saw this pattern in a magazine and I've always loved it, so when our local fabric store was having a 50% off whole purchase sale, I got it and the fabric to make it with.

A Tiered Skirt

I (well, Mom) purchased this fabric at the Fabric Store Mother-Daughter trip Monday/Tuesday this week. (For more info about that trip, visit Mom's blog.)
My friend originally picked out the music note fabric, and then got two other fabrics to make a tiered skirt for herself out of.
I liked the idea, so I got the music note fabric as well and got two different fabrics to go with it.
There are a couple defects, but if you don't look close, you can't see them, and I'm not going to point them out. :-)
