Flip-Flop Wreath
I bought some size Small kids flip-flops from Hobby Lobby (75 cents a pair) and created this flip-flop wreath for the front door.

Father's Day
We celebrated Father’s Day Sunday afternoon after Sandy and kids left. He had a very Star-Trekkie Father’s Day.
We got him a plaque on our Mother-Daughter trip that said “Dad – The Great, The Magnificent, The Man with the Wallet!!” We thought it fit very perfectly for our Mother-Daughter Fabric shopping trip. Hehehehehe.

Star Trek card - inspired by a $5 one (my, how things are getting expensive nowadays) I saw at Walmart.

I got him a Spock figurine from the new Star Trek movie. In this picture, he is not gaping in surprise at the present, he is just saying “Spock”. LOL, though I thought it was funny.

My Birthday - Part 2
My birth-family arrived late Friday night (well, actually, Saturday morning, around 12:30am). They couldn't stay that long, (they left Sunday afternoon) but we did have fun while they were here!
Ruby:

Louis:

Frankie:

They had fun with my bodhran (it made noise = they loved it)

Louis caught a bass

Frankie caught a bluegill

Ruby had fun playing on the computer...she thought the mouse was a phone.

The cake!

It's funny how as you get older, it gets easier to blow out the candles.

You are taking my picture. Do not take my picture. (He took my picture)

A Lovely Quote
Found this quote in "Raising Maidens of Virtue" and I fell in love with it.
These are not books, lumps of lifeless paper, but minds alive on the shelves. From each of them goes out its own voice and just as the touch on our set will fill the room with music, so by taking down one of these volumes and opening it, one can call into range the voice of a man far distant in time and space, and hear him speaking to us, mind to mind, heart to heart.
