For those who don't know, Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter Marie was killed last Wednesday afternoon in their driveway. She was hit by a backing up car.
You can see his website for details: www.stevencurtischapman.com
And you can leave your condolences for the family here: http://chapmanchannel.typepad.com/inmemoryofmaria/
And a lady (her name is Sarah) from the American Girl Fans Message Board just posted that her husband was killed in a fatal car accident that same day. June would've been their tenth anniversary and they have three kids.
Please keep the Chapman family and Sarah and her family in your prayers.
If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be!

Paper Dragonflies
While playing with paper scraps after finishing scrapbooking this afternoon, I made these adorable little dragonflies. Their wings are made of 'paper selvages' (the often white strip of paper that is at the bottom of some 12x12 pieces of scrapbooking paper, telling you the brand and color) and their bodies green paper scraps. Their tentacles are vellum strips.
I had rather hoped to be able to string them together and make a mobile, but it didn't work. They were all topsy turvy. Ah well. I could still use them as gift-wrapping-decorations and pin them to my bulletin board.
Mom, I shrunk the clothes!
Some ladies over on the American Girl Fans Message Board 'shrink' human clothes down to doll-sized clothes. And not with a very high heat on the dryer. They use a pattern that is similar to the originial, or they draft their own. Poor Mom...this is her favorite dress and I (*cough cough*) accidentally ruined it a while back by washing it with my hot pink swimsuit. (Quote - "Ah, it's so sad, I will never be able to wear it again..." Unquote.)
It's not wonderful either, but here it is, in all it's glory (or lack there of). (Hm, I think that is now my favorite phrase...and I have my best friend Charity to thank for it. :-)

I'm not just totally thrilled with the way this turned out...but considering it's my first human project, I guess it's pretty good. :-) I messed the yoke up slightly and the buttonholes are uneven :-/ but here it is, in all it's glory: (or lack there of)
BOY, I haven't posted for a long time.
To repeat the title: BOY, I haven't posted for a long time. Didn't realize it's been that long. So the next few posts will be me catching you up on my life. :-)

Friends Visiting
My best friend Charity and her 2-year-old brother Chad are visiting us for today, tonight and tomorrow. Chad is so cute. :-) But a handful. But put the Tigger movie or the Heffalump movie (Winnie the Pooh, of course) and he will sit mesmerized in front of the TV. I was able to get a couple pictures (I think they are somewhat grainy and blurry because of the lighting) of him before he noticed me. Hopefully it will not be as rainy or dreary tomorrow and we can take some good pictures outside. :-)
