My Birthday

Happy Birthday to me! June 19th, 2008

First off, I got an album that all the women/girls in my family (I think) and some girls from our church contributed to. It's marvelous and thank you all very much!

The last page featured a picture of Kirsten and a note that said she would be joining my AG family!

Follow the first scavenger hunt clue..."She is SITTING waiting for me." Run to mom's Sitting Room! There she is! SITTING waiting for me!

Next clue states that she must have some clothes, for she can't WORK without them! Hurry to the workroom! Kirsten's meet outfit is found.

Next clue? Kirsten is sure there are more items to help her go on LIVING. Go to the Living room, quick, quick, quick! Kirsten's accessories are found.

Last clue...Kirsten will sure enjoy lounging by the FIRE with this last clue...her quilt set!

My other presents were a sheet of Amy Butler Stickers...

And a set of Circle 9 Ranch books.

All in all, I had a great birthday!

*is mad*

Alright, I just need to vent for a little bit right here.

We've got a b-day party for me planned on June 21st. Well, one of the "things" about it was that we are going swimming. WELLLL, it is only supposed to be 77 degrees that day. That is NOT hot enough to go swimming. And I'm really disappointed because I LOVE going swimming with my friends...otherwise it's quite boring. (I mean swimming is boring, not my friends. And the party will be boring to because I don't know what else we will do) So I am mad.
Mom is saying that the weather could still change, and boy am I praying for it to change, but I just don't think it would go up that far. Normally if it does change it goes up 1 or down 1 degree. It doesn't normally jump 5 degrees in 10 days.
Maybe it will change. I hope it changes. IT BETTER CHANGE!

Ok, end of vent.

Bird Bathing

We had spotted some house finches taking baths in the plastic dish we set out for the birds to drink from, but never a robin. And we hadn't captured it on film either!

It was quite comical watching him (or her...) flapping around in the dish.

Prayers Needed

For those who don't know, Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter Marie was killed last Wednesday afternoon in their driveway. She was hit by a backing up car.
You can see his website for details: www.stevencurtischapman.com
And you can leave your condolences for the family here: http://chapmanchannel.typepad.com/inmemoryofmaria/

And a lady (her name is Sarah) from the American Girl Fans Message Board just posted that her husband was killed in a fatal car accident that same day. June would've been their tenth anniversary and they have three kids.

Please keep the Chapman family and Sarah and her family in your prayers.

If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be!

Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints.

Brocade Jacket

I had originially got this brocade for something other than this jacket, but when I saw the pattern and the fabric together, it was perfect!

Here are some pictures:

Paper Dragonflies

While playing with paper scraps after finishing scrapbooking this afternoon, I made these adorable little dragonflies. Their wings are made of 'paper selvages' (the often white strip of paper that is at the bottom of some 12x12 pieces of scrapbooking paper, telling you the brand and color) and their bodies green paper scraps. Their tentacles are vellum strips.

I had rather hoped to be able to string them together and make a mobile, but it didn't work. They were all topsy turvy. Ah well. I could still use them as gift-wrapping-decorations and pin them to my bulletin board.
