Beautiful Blogger Award

The terms of accepting this are you must thank the person who nominated you, paste the award on your blog, link back to the nominator, tell 7 interesting things about myself and nominate 7 others linking to them.

I was nominated by Mom. Thank you. She says I need more experience in creative writing.
Alright, here goes:

1. While I strongly dislike math, I am very good at it.
2. I am a fearless sewer. I often don't follow directions when making things, and will attempt to sew things that are way beyond my level of expertise.
3. I am very outgoing and talkative except at church. don't ask me why.
4. I think doughnuts are the greatest. Especially chocolate ones with cream filling.
5. The only guy in my life right now is my Dad, and he's the awesome-est. :-)
6. If I had a choice between a movie made in 2009 and a movie made in 1950, I would choose the movie made in 1950.
7. I have two brothers and a sister but I am an only child.

I don't know if I can come up with 7 people. I don't think that many people read my blog. And I know that my mom already tagged the ones who do. So I'll tag as many as I can.

1. The Dashwood sisters at Hooks and Needles
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.

K, think that's it. And if anyone who reads this but doesn't comment wishes to grab one of the empty spaces, you are perfectly welcome too. Consider it a free-for-all nomination.

Sewing is for the dolls!

First, I made these dresses for the Faith and Friends dolls. A lady on one of our doll message boards was asking if anyone knew where to find clothes for them, and I have created patterns for them since I too wanted more clothes for them than the one outfit they come with, so I volunteered to make her some. I made her five dresses, a nightgown, an apron, and a skirt/blouse set.

This one is based on Felicity's Rose Garden gown, because the lady I'm making the outfit for said that was one of her favorite American Girl outfits. The apron is a pre-pleated off white trim.

Nightgown:

Blue colonial-style dress:

Blue gingham and floral:

Next, a Valentine's Day Ball gown:
It didn't turn out quite like I expected and wanted it to, but being as how I only used a pattern for the bodice (I winged the rest of it), it doesn't look bad. :-)

Matryoshka Dolls!

To help support our friends who are going on a missions trip to Yoshkar Ola, Russia in March (God willing), I am setting up auctions, auctioning off Matryoshka dolls and keychains which they bought while in Russia adopting their youngest daughter, Kristina, in 2005.
There is one full-sized matryoshka set that is a lovely blue color...

And then two little key-chains that are so cute:

Five Aspects of Christmas Morning

The Fun (no, he's not sneezing)

The Humor (at least somebody's idea of it)

The Creativity

The Wishes

The Surprises

(Boy was it hard to just pick five pictures...I know that Fun and Humor & Unexpected and Surprises are kind of repeats, but the pictures went with the theme)
